NPD INVESTIGATES FATAL CAR CRASH ON LOOP 224
The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating a fatal automobile accident that occurred this afternoon on West Loop 224.
The accident occurred at 1:53 PM on West Loop 224 near the intersection of Sandia Street. A 2011 Chevrolet driven by Shannon Brown, 31 of Nacogdoches was northbound on Loop 224 and had pulled over onto the shoulder. In an attempt to re-enter traffic, she pulled into the path of a 2015 Chrysler 200 driven by Thomas Lee, 35 of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Shannon Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge David Perkins, JP Pct 4.
A passenger in the Brown vehicle and two passengers in the Lee vehicle were taken to the hospital by ambulance for non life threatening injuries.
More information will be available after an official report is filed by the NPD Traffic Division.
