The East Texas Online Auction is running now, and auction sponsor Suddenlink Communications just made it easier to bid online with free access hot spots at local businesses.

“It’s a natural fit for Suddenlink to be involved in the East Texas Online Auction with the high-speed internet services we offer,” said General Manager Kenny Faust, Suddenlink Communications. “Anyone in the covered area will be able to use the service, free of charge.”

The hot spots will be available May 9 through 12, at the following businesses in downtown: Wild Rose Old Time Photos; Heart of Texas Gift Gallery and Glass Castles Stained Glass Studio & Gifts. A wifi hot spot will also be available at the same time on North St. at Party’N Things / Space Walk of East Texas.

The East Texas Online Auction is produced by the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and offers approximately 40 great product, travel and service packages as well as unique items donated by area businesses.

“It’s worth browsing the auction just to see the interesting items that you yourself could enjoy or find the perfect gift for someone else,” Faust said. “Along with using the free wifi, you could visit with the business owners about the items they’ve donated and included in the auction.”

Go to www.Nacogdoches.org and find the East Texas Online Auction link on the right side of the Home page. The auction closes at 8 p.m., Thursday, May 12.
