Nacogdoches Police Investigated Two Major Accidents Involving Intoxicated Drivers

Around 12:58 a.m. this morning the Nacogdoches Police Department responded to the 1700 block of North St after receiving 911 calls of a major accident. Officers arrived and found the driver of a white 2007 Ford Pickup had left the roadway while driving north and struck 3 pedestrians on the sidewalk and an electric pole causing power lines to fall to the ground. All three pedestrians sustained non life threatening injuries. The adult victim was transported by EMS to the hospital. The two juvenile victims were transported by family to the hospital. During the course of the investigation the driver of the pickup was identified to be Logan Stanaland, 18 years of age from Garrison, Tx. Stanaland was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested. This is an ongoing investigation.

NACOGDOCHES POLICE RESPONDED TO MAJOR ACCIDENT INVOLVING SUSPECTED INTOXICATED DRIVER

NACOGDOCHES,TX (June 17, 2021): Around 11:17 p.m. on June 16, 2021 the Nacogdoches Police Department responded to a major accident in the 4500 block of North St involving a Gray 2013 Dodge Challenger and a 2008 Nissan Altima. During the course of the investigation it was determined the driver of the Dodge had run a redlight while traveling northbound on North St striking the Nissan that had entered the intersection on a green light. The driver and the passenger in the Nissan were both injured as a result of the collision and were transported to Nacogdoches Medical Center for treatment. Officers later learned the driver of the Nissan had sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Dodge also sustained injuries from the collision and was transported by EMS to Nacogdoches Medical Center and was later admitted. This is an ongoing investigation and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. This is an ongoing investigation and we do expect to file formal charges as the investigation progresses.
