NACOGDOCHES POLICE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATING MAJOR ACCIDENT

(APRIL 25, 2021): Nacogdoches Police responded to the 800 block of Martin Luther King Blvd around 4:12 p.m. this afternoon after receiving calls of a major accident involving a 2019 Ford pickup and person on a bicycle. When officers arrived at the scene they found the adult male that was struck while on the bicycle to be in critical condition. Ems arrived at the scene and transported the victim to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital but was later life flighted out of town. The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification. The driver of the pickup was not injured in the collision.

Preliminary information at this time indicates the person on the bicycle was traveling west bound on Martin Luther King when they were struck by the pickup that was traveling south bound out of the softball complex. The Nacogdoches Police Department’s Traffic Unit is still on scene collecting evidence. All east and westbound traffic on MLK Blvd is being rerouted.
