Obituary: William Carlton “Le’Roi” Greer, Sr.

     NATCHEZ-Funeral services for William Carlton “Le’Roi” Greer, Sr., 73, of Vidalia, who died February 4, 2011 at his residence in Vidalia, will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday February 8, 2011 at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. C. D. Beard officiating.

     Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

     Visitation will be Monday 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home.

     Mr. Greer was born January 3, 1938 in Brookhaven, Ms the son of William Carey Greer and Lucy Edna Carlton Greer. He was a deputy for Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Department, dispatch and Captain for Concordia Parish Fire Department #2. He was a member of Bougere Baptist Church; Captain of Deer Park neighborhood watch; Charter Member and Captain of Station # 8 for Concordia Parish Fire District #2.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse: Helen Rasberry Greer; brother: Amos (Butch) Greer; Son: Harry Brown; and daughter: Rita Brown Perrault.

     Survivors : Six Daughters: Maria Greer of Vidalia; Carlette Williams and husband Cliff of Natchez; Lori Hubright of Vidalia; Helen Brown Thrash and husband Scott of Hattiesburg, Ms; Monica Rushing and husband Ken of Richland, Ms.; Shawny Brown Clevland and husband Jason of Sardis, Ms.

     Two Sons: William Carlton Greer, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Houston, Tx; Bill Brown and wife Carol of Baton Rouge, La.

     And many many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren including those that knew him as PaPaw Le’Roi

     One Sister: Cookie Greer Gathings of Birmingham, Al.

     One Dear Friend: Mary Greer

     Active Pallbearers will be the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Department and Concordia Parish Fire Department

     Honorary Pallbearers will be Shell Greer and Captain Le’roi’s Deerpark 1st (Louie)
