Update on Shooting 3600 Block Laurel Oak St

Around 8 p.m on April 28, 2019 Nacogdoches Police Department received a 911 call from a resident in the 3600 block of Laurel Oak St advising someone had broken into their residence. Officers arrived to the scene and located an adult male that had sustained a gunshot wound to the face. The gunshot victim was identified as being Alexander Casis 55 years of age. Alexander was also the resident. Officers quickly provided medical aid to the victim until Ems arrived and transported him to the hospital. It is believed at the time of this email that he is in stable condition.

The suspect in the shooting of the resident was still in the victims residence refusing to come outside. The SWAT Team responded to the scene and negotiations began with the barricaded suspect. The suspect later came out of the house surrendering to Police and was taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Andrew Haffert 31 years of age from Nacogdoches,Tx. The suspect was transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail and booked on the charge of Burglary of a Habitation F-1.
