Nacogdoches Police are investigating a shooting that occurred just before 7 pm on January 9th 2019 at 604 Perry Dr.
Police were called to 604 Perry Drive in reference to a gunshot victim in the early evening of January 9th 2019. At 6:50 PM Officers were dispatched to a report of a gunshot victim at 604 Perry Dr. Officers located a single gunshot victim in the 600 Blk of Perry Dr. The gunshot victim had been shot inside the residence of 604 Perry Dr. The victim was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the face and was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. The victim was identified to be Zackary Wright 19 years of age from Nacogdoches, Texas. The victim was later transferred to Tyler and is listed in stable condition. At this time it appears the suspect was outside the residence and discharged a firearm multiple times into the residence striking the victim and then fled on foot. There were multiple persons seen outside the residence just moments before the shooting that officers are currently seeking to identify.
While officers were still on scene of the shooting another area resident advised he witnessed multiple male subjects approaching his nearby residence. The victim stated one of the suspects fired a gun in his direction and fled on foot.
No arrests have been made on the shooting at this time.
