Obituary: Patricia Ann “Patsy” Partin (Cason Monk-Metcalf)

     Patricia Ann “Patsy” Partin, 70, of Nacogdoches passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at her residence.

     Mrs. Partin was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Houston, Texas, and was a graduate of San Jacinto High School. While living in Houston, she worked with her husband in the family contracting business. While residing in Nacogdoches she has served with the Ladies Auxiliary at Nacogdoches Medical Center and was a regular caller to the Brad Maule Show on KSFA as the “Star Lady.” She was a loving mother and grandmother, keen on the happiness of her family. A special thank you goes to the community of Nacogdoches for receiving Patsy into our community-she enjoyed life here.

     Survivors: her sons, Donald Augustus Partin Jr. and wife Wendy of Nacogdoches and David Marshall Partin of Grand Prairie; a brother, Lee Broadwater of Nacogdoches; a sister, Toni Vance of Wimberly; grandchildren, Wesley Partin and wife Lauren, Donald A. “Gus” Partin III, Grant Partin, Gracen Partin, Hannah Malott, and Kyla Partin; and a great-grandson, Connor Augustus Partin; and lifelong friend and companion, James K. McRill.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Augustus Partin Sr.; father, Ezra Lee Broadwater; and her mother, Robert Elizabeth Bales Broadwater.

     Funeral services are set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Bro. Dock Lazarine officiating. Interment will follow with 3:00 p.m. graveside rites at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

     Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

     Memorials may be made to the Nacogdoches County Humane Society, 3211 SW Stallings Dr., Nacogdoches, TX 75964.

    Patsy, Toni, Lee and I were all childhood friends from Camden street and Johnston Jr High / San Jac High School. I discovered Patsy’s death today (Mar 1, 2012) will trying to locate the Broadwater family through Facebook. I am so sorry to hear this.
    Patsy, I really did enjoy your dance recitals and you were the prettest girl there.
