Obituary: Charles Ray “Charlie” Warren

Mr. Charles Ray “Charlie” Warren, 85, of Douglass Texas passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Nacogdoches. He was born on May 16, 1927 in Douglass, Texas to parents Robert Coleman Warren and Lillian Mayfield Warren.
A funeral service will be conducted at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Pastor Randy Arnold of Douglass First Baptist Church officiating on Sunday, September 23, at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow at Eden Cemetery in the Nacogdoches County.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 4-6 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf on Saturday, September 22, 2012.
Charlie was retired from Freeport McMoran Company in Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1982 after spending much of his life in Clute, Texas
He was a veteran of World War ll serving under the United States Navy. He was a member and Deacon of the Douglass First Baptist Church and a lifetime Master Mason of the Lake Jackson Lodge. He enjoyed his working his tractor and spending time outdoors. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Betty Jean Scott Warren; son, Charles Michael Warren; and nephew, Charles Lee Warren. Charlie is survived by his only daughter Patricia Warren of San Jose, California; brother, Robert C. Warren and wife Bettye of Douglass; two grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Charles C. Warren, Fred Athey, Larry Collier, Paul Christian, Russel Garner and James Garner. Memorial donations may be offered to Douglass First Baptist Church, 15122 W HWY 21, Douglass, Texas 75943.
