Lane, of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Serving With TFDA

     Local funeral director Tracy A. “T.A.” Lane is filling capacities with the Texas Funeral Directors Association (TFDA). Lane is a member of the professional staff at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches.

Velma Sue DeLeon, president of Texas Funeral Directors Association (TFDA), welcomes Tracy A. T.A. Lane to service to TFDA positions. Lane is a funeral director with Cason Monk-Metcalf in Nacogdoches.

     Lane has been elected to serve a term on the board of directors of TFDA Services Inc., a division within Texas Funeral Directors Association.

     Joining Lane on the TFDA Services Inc. board of directors are chairman Thomas E. Ramsey of Ft. Worth, Tarrant County Mortician Service; Michael C. Hoffman Jr. of San Antonio, Mission Park Funeral Chapels; Floyd Minton of Van Alstyne, Flesher Funeral Home; Charlie Dannel of Sherman, Dannel Funeral Home; Bob Earthman of Houston, Earthman Funeral Homes; D. Elree Griffin Jr. of Wylie, retired with Wilbert Burial Vaults; Michael Land of Hurst, Forest Ridge Funeral Home; and Douglas Nobles of Navasota, Nobles Funeral Home.

     Lane is also serving on the Media Relations committee for Texas Funeral Directors Association. His appointment to this committee was made by Velma Sue DeLeon, the president of TFDA.

     DeLeon welcomed Lane to serving these TFDA capacities at a recent meeting in Austin. This meeting was held in conjunction with TFDA hosting an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony of the renovation of TFDA’s meeting/conference suite of the association’s offices at the Edward McGuire Building, Austin.

     Lane is a funeral director with the staff of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors in Nacogdoches, joining the staff in 2009. He graduated in 2007 with honors from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service, Houston. He served his apprenticeship at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, San Augustine, and worked there before accepting a position at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

     Lane formerly served as editor of The Sabine County Reporter & The Rambler as well as news director for KAWS Radio before entering the funeral industry.
