Obituary: Betty Boney

     Betty Boney, 74, peacefully passed away on September 9, 2011 in Nacogdoches. She was born on November 27, 1936 to parents John Shew and Ethyl Locke Shew. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Wayne Shew of Gray Baptist Church of Gary, Texas at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel on Monday, September 12 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Upper Melrose Cemetery in Melrose, Texas.

     Betty was known for many things but especially for her love for the kitchen. It brought her together with her husband, Winford, 56years ago. She enjoyed cooking and serving others her entire life. Betty retired as Catering Manager of ARAMARK at SFASU where she had the opportunity to meet all kinds of people in all walks of life including celebrities. She was a hard working, a loving mother, and devoted wife. She always sacrificed for her family. They know her as the “essence” of a mother. She loved to laugh and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her most affectionately.

     Betty is survived by her loving husband, Winford of Nacogdoches; sons, Stephen Earl Boney of Nacogdoches, Carl Lynn Boney of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Beverly Ann Boney Williams and husband Randall of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Candice Marie Brooks Matchett and husband Trey of Nacogdoches, Meagan Nicole Boney Watkins and husband Jason of Nacogdoches, Angela Williams Schueneman and husband Zack of Rockwall, Texas, Amber Michelle Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Brooks Turham, Jefferson Brooks Holbrook, Briley Chyanne Watkins, Alix McGuire and Braxton David Schueneman; numerous nieces and nephews.

     She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Hubert, Frank, J.E. Shew; sisters, Marie Gay and Lillie Belle Shew.

     Visitation will be on Sunday September 11, from 4pm-6 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.

     Pallbearers will include Jason Watkins, Zach Schueneman, George Payne, Trey Matchett, Aubrey Corman, and Jimmy Shew.
