Obituary: Hubert Thomas “Tommy” Treadwell III

     Hubert Thomas “Tommy” Treadwell III, age 58, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, in Houston, Texas.

     Tommy was born March 2, 1953, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Hubert Thomas Treadwell II and Joan Lake Treadwell. Tommy lived in Jacksonville until he was 19 when he married his high school sweetheart and soulmate, Pamela Hall.

     He was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, where he excelled in football and was captain of the team. Tommy had a lifelong love of the sport and was always an avid fan—whether it be the NFL, college or high school level.

     Tommy attended Baylor Medical School in Houston, becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). He worked a number of years at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital however has been a member of the team at Nacogdoches Surgery Center since it opened.

     Tommy was a selfless person, always putting everyone’s wants, needs, and desires ahead of himself. It was his love of helping people and wanting to save lives that led him to a career in health care.

     He never met a stranger and possessed the kindest spirit possible. Tommy was always the “life of the party.”

     Tommy was the ultimate father and role model for his family and his two sons. Although Tommy only had two biological sons, he was always “just like a father” to his sons’ friends.

     He is survived by his wife, Pam Treadwell of Nacogdoches; his sons, Dustin Treadwell of Tyler and Jake Treadwell of Nacogdoches; his mother, Joan Treadwell of Jacksonville; a sister, Robin McCown of Jacksonville; a brother Tony Treadwell of Jacksonville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

     Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Hubert T. “Bubba” Treadwell II; a brother, Tim Treadwell; and a nephew, Timothy Treadwell.

     Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, 5400 North St., Nacogdoches, with Bro. John Wahl officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 5127 North St.

     Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

     Pallbearers will be Randy McCown, Josh McCown, Luke McCown, Corey Treadwell, Tony Treadwell, and Caleb Bolton.

     The family suggests that memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

     Services are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St., Nacogdoches.
