Mrs. Effie Massey, age 91, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away early Thursday, August 4, 2011, at a Nacogdoches hospital.

Mrs. Massey was born May 7, 1920, in Nacogdoches County to Jack Tubbe and Ada Elizabeth (Pilkington) Tubbe. She was a longtime resident of the Nacogdoches area and enjoyed caring for her family.
Survivors include her children, Glenda Stanford Creery of Nacogdoches, Gary Frank Massey and wife Bonita of Mississippi, Dennis Massey of Nacogdoches, Debbie Massey Barlow of Lufkin, Joyce May and husband Henry of Houston, and Janey Reynolds and husband Walton of Midway; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Durward Delma Massey in 1992; a daughter-in-law, Debbi Massey; and her parents.
Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Bro. Jerry L. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Saint’s Rest Cemetery, located on County Road 538 in Nacogdoches County.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 5, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches.
Pallbearers: Nick Massey, Bo Massey, Glen Rose, Walton Reynolds, Henry May, and Mark Keys.
