Return of the Easter Bunny at Millard’s Crossing (April 17)

The Eighth Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Millard’s Crossing Historic Village, 6020 North Street, will take place on Sunday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. The event, co-hosted by Nacogdoches Junior Forum and Millard’s Crossing, provides lots of fun for children 12 and under, along with family and friends. As always, the Easter Bunny will make a spectacular appearance and be present throughout the event for pictures so be sure to bring cameras.

Come out and see the Easter Bunny on Sunday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at Millards Crossing Historic Village. Visitors can participant in the Easter egg hunt, egg-in-spoon races, and much, much more!

Children should bring their Easter baskets, and parents are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets so they can relax on the grounds as the fun begins. The delightful afternoon begins with egg-in-spoon races before the “Big Hunt.” When the hunt begins, younger children will get a head start; then older children will join the search for candy-filled eggs hidden around the Village. Free lemonade and water will be served on the grounds and attendees can purchase a raffle ticket for the very special Easter Egg Hunt prize.

“This is always a picture perfect event since it comes at a time when many of our flowers are in bloom and the grounds are covered by a carpet of wildflowers,” said Susie Lower, Village Director. “The fine old houses and the landscaped grounds are the perfect setting for an old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt and the children are just as lovely as the flowers.”

Millard’s Crossing Historic Village is located at 6020 North Street (US Business 59 North), one half mile north of Loop 224. Parking is available just inside the gate or at the flea market next to the Village. Participants are asked to donate $2.00 per person at the gate which goes toward funding the many programs and operations of the Village.

“Some people think we shouldn’t charge, but because we’re self-supporting we just can’t afford to hold these events for free. Parents can tell their children that their donations help keep our history alive. Everyone can feel good about that,” said Susie Lower, Director.
