Stephen F. Austin State University will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil a family-friendly study carrel, which will be housed in Steen Library’s first floor computer lab. The carrel, which allows parenting students a study space while caring for their child, was purchased as part of a grant from Better Together – Nacogdoches along with funds from the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. An identical carrel was purchased for the Judy B. McDonald Public Library. In collaboration with the university’s observance of National Student Parent Month, the event will recognize the challenges parenting students overcome for their education.
