To celebrate the university’s centennial year and as a thank you to the Nacogdoches and Lumberjack communities, the Stephen F. Austin State University Press is hosting a year-long book giveaway starting this month.
“The centennial anniversary offers a great opportunity to look back on all that we have accomplished as a university,” said Graham Garner, SFA chief marketing and communications officer. “The talented authors, many of whom are local to Nacogdoches and who have been employed by or otherwise have ties to SFA, are perfectly positioned as storytellers and keepers of the history of SFA.”
The SFA Press centennial book giveaway will run monthly now through August 2024. Each month’s book will be announced at the start of the month on SFA’s Facebook and X, formerly known as Twitter, pages with the total number of giveaway books available. The post will also include a link to an online form that participants must fill out as their entry into the giveaway.
Publications include such books as:
“A Day at SFA” by Shirley Luna and Donna Parish
“Chopper Blues” by Charles D. Jones
“Well Done: SFA 90+ Years and Cooking” compiled by Kim Verhines
Books will be given away on a first-come, first-awarded basis. For example, if there are 50 books available, the first 50 individuals to fill out the form will receive a complimentary copy of that month’s book.
Additionally, books will not be mailed and must be picked up on the SFA campus. Recipients will be contacted with the pickup location.
