Jafrina Seymone Jackson, age 19 of Diboll, Texas was arrested by NPD Traffic Investigators this afternoon after turning herself in on a warrant for Felony Failure to Stop and Render Aid. Jackson is accused of being the driver of a vehicle that struck 48 year old Jose Guadalupe Ramirez in the 1100 block of SE Loop 224 on the night of January 28th. The vehicle that struck Mr. Ramirez left the scene without rendering aid or providing information. Mr. Ramirez sustained serious injuries in the collision.

“Witnesses at the scene provided investigators with a description of the vehicle that left the scene”, said NPD Sgt. Greg Sowell. “Through the investigative process, officers were able to obtain a photograph of the suspect vehicle from a local business, but the photo was of poor quality”.

According to Sowell, the investigators requested that the crime be featured by Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers as the “Crime of the Week” for February 7th. “We released the information on Monday, and received an anonymous tip on Tuesday about a possible vehicle in Diboll”, Sowell said. “The result of that tip is the arrest that was made this afternoon”.

The case was investigated by members of the NPD Traffic Division with assistance from the Diboll Police Department.
