SFA planetarium to premiere new shows

Two new planetarium shows offering educational experiences for audiences of all ages will premiere Saturday, May 11, and run through June 22 at the Stephen F. Austin State University Cole STEM Building.

Geared toward children but open to all ages, “The Little Star That Could” tells the story of a star’s journey throughout the Solar System as viewers learn about the Milky Way. The show is at 3 p.m., and tickets are $3.

“This is an engaging and fun show that introduces children to the wonders of stars and planets,” said Ed Michaels, planetarium director.

“Journey to the Stars” takes visitors on a dazzling tour of space and time to experience the life and death of stars. It will show at 4:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children, students, and faculty and staff with ID.

Tickets are available for purchase at the planetarium box office 30 minutes before each show.

The planetarium has shows every Saturday, with group shows available throughout the week by reservation.
