Brave Space Series at SFA to showcase ‘Bound to Repeat’

The Stephen F. Austin State University Office of Multicultural Affairs will present “Bound to Repeat,” the second installment in its Brave Space Series of the spring semester, at 4 p.m. Monday, March 11, in the Baker Pattillo Student Center’s Multimedia Room.

Each series has a specific area of focus. The Brave Space Series provides a forum for open and honest discussion concerning difficult topics. This meeting will emphasize the ways in which people are often disconnected not only with history but also with one another.

“The more we continue to fall into the same patterns, the more our society will become desensitized to the issues we face,” said Andrea Flores, OMA student ambassador. “The result can cause us to become uncaring toward our fellow human beings, especially when the issues do not directly affect us.”

Flores said that through the discussion, she hopes participants will learn how to remain connected in a world that often moves from one injustice to another in a matter of days.

The discussion is free and open to the SFA and Nacogdoches communities. For more information, visit www.sfasu.edu/multicultural/480.asp.
