The Nacogdoches Police Department is currently investigating a fatal auto accident that occurred in the early evening on Friday.
Police were called to the intersection of E. Main (State Highway 21) and SE Stallings Drive (State Loop 224) approximately 6 pm Friday.
A red Chevy Impala driven by Renee Beam Wilson, 54, of Nacogdoches was struck by a red Dodge SUV driven by Clorissa Johnson, 37, of San Augustine. Both were transported by EMS to Memorial Hospital
where Wilson passed away from her injuries. Johnson’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The accident is still under investigation and the area on E. Main is currently closed to thru traffic. The road is expected to be closed until sometime after midnight on Saturday and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes.
