A Day at the Worm Races at the Public Library
The Judy B. McDonald Public Library invites children to attend A Day at the Worm Races on Tuesday, July 5th at 10:00 a.m. Do earthworms have eyes? Can they smell? What are they good for, anyway? And, most importantly, which worm is fastest? Join the Library for a fascinating program all about worms and the dirt in which they live. Library information is available at www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us/library, on Facebook under Judy B. McDonald Public Library and on Twitter and Instagram as friendsofnacpl.
Midnight Madness at the Public Library & Recreation Center
The Judy B. McDonald Public Library and the C.L. Simon Recreation Center invite the community to attend Midnight Madness on July 9th from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. Everyone is invited to take over the whole building for a special night of games that include laser tag, glow-in-the-dark games in the gym, glow-in-the-dark face painting and crafts, as well as Loud in the Library. The Library, Recreation Center and Historic Sites departments will host the event. “The summer reading theme this year is ‘Get in the Game-Read’ and is sport and exercise related, so we felt it would be a natural collaboration with the other Community Services departments,” says Crystal Hicks, assistant library director. “All of our departments provide activities and entertainment in the summer and year round.” Information is available on the web at www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us.
