November 30 Crime Report: Well that socks

PUBLIC INFORMATION REPORT FOR TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2010
INFORMATION FROM 0600 11.29.10 to 0600 11.30.2010

     THEFT; 2000 BLOCK OF SOUTH STREET. A SUSPECT WAS FOUND TO HAVE PLACED NUMEROUS PACKAGES OF SOCKS IN HIS COAT AND ATTEMPTED TO LEAVE THE STORE WITHOUT PAYING. THE SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED.

     BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE (2 COUNTS); 1100 BLOCK OF NORTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE. OFFICERS RESPONDED TO TWO VEHICLE BURGLARIES IN A PARKING LOT. BOTH VEHICLES WERE ENTERED BY FORCE AND A PURSE, IPOD, VARIOUS CREDIT CARDS AND A WALLET WERE TAKEN.

     DWLI; 100 BLOCK OF BREMOND STREET. OFFICERS STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR TRAFFIC. THE DRIVER WAS FOUND TO HAVE A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND NO INSURANCE. THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED.

     BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE ( 2 COUNTS); 4900 BLOCK OF NE STALLINGS DRIVE. TWO VEHICLES WERE FORCIBLY ENTERED AND A WALLET, PURSE, CASH, CHECK BOOK AND CREDIT CARDS WERE STOLEN.

     BURGLARY OF A HABITATION; 800 BLOCK OF SUMMIT. ENTRY WAS FORCED TO A RESIDENCE AND A TELEVISION, A WII GAME STATION AND A DELL COMPUTER WERE STOLEN.

     DWLI; 800 BLOCK OF PARK STREET. A VEHICLE WAS STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC. THE DRIVER HAD A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND NO INSURANCE. THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED.

     THEFT; 200 BLOCK OF EAST STARR. A TREK 4300 BICYCLE WAS TAKEN FROM OUTSIDE A RESIDENCE.

     BURGLARY OF A HABITATION; 3400 BLOCK OF EAST MAIN. ENTRY WAS MADE TO A RESIDENCE AND A 54” TELEVISION WAS REPORTED STOLEN.

     DEADLY CONDUCT; 200 BLOCK OF FLORA STREET. COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT SOMEONE IN A PASSING VEHICLE FIRED SEVERAL SHOTS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE RESIDENCE. NO ONE WAS INJURED.

     HIT AND RUN; 100 BLOCK OF NORTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE. COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT A VEHICLE STRUCK HIS, CAUSING HIM TO STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SUSPECT VEHICLE LEFT THE SCENE. THE THIRD VEHICLE THAT WAS STRUCK ALSO LEFT THE SCENE.

     THEFT; 900 BLOCK OF SCARLET OAK. COMPLAINANT REPORTED TRANSFERRING MONEY TO AN UNKNOWN SUSPECT AS A DOWN PAYMENT FOR A LOAN. THE DOWN PAYMENT WAS SENT TO CANADA BY WIRE TRANSFER. THE COMPLAINANT DID NOT RECEIVE THE LOAN, AND HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RECONTACT THE SUSPECT.

     POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA; 500 BLOCK OF EAST COLLEGE. OFFICERS STOPPED A VEHICLE FOR TRAFFIC. THE DRIVER AND A PASSENGER WERE FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF SUSPECTED MARIJUANA. BOTH WERE ARRESTED.

     DWLI; 3500 BLOCK OF SOUTH STREET. A TRAFFIC STOP REVEALED THAT THE DRIVER HAD A SUSPENDED LICENSE AND NO INSURANCE. THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED.
