Marvin Virgil Myers

     Marvin Virgil Myers, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at his home in Houston, Texas. He was born on January 2, 1919 in Orange, Texas to his parents Henry Carl and Oscar Olivia Myers.

     Marvin was raised in Orange, Texas. After serving in the Army, he eventually moved to Houston, Texas where he lived for more than 60 years. He was married to the late, Billy Jean Chisum and had three sons; Robert, David and Mark.

     He was an avid fisherman and hunter and raised bird dogs in his spare time. Most importantly, he loved his family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife.

     He is survived by his sons; Robert Myers, David Myers and his wife Vicki, and Mark Myers, all of Houston, TX; two granddaughters; Robin Myers and husband Ben of Boston, MA, and Jamie Myers of Houston, TX; a grandson, Clay Myers of Houston, TX, and two sisters; Pearl Myers Burgess of Orange, TX and Berryl Conway and husband Jay of Houston, TX.

     Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Simpson Campground Cemetery in Nacogdoches, TX with Brother Garrel Faulkner officiating.

     Friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 5pm-7pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, TX.
