Five pounds of marijuana seized in traffic stop

Jason Bridges, Pct. 4 Constable

The Nacogdoches County Constable Precinct 4 has seized 5 pounds of marijuana from a traffic stop Friday morning. Constable Bridges stated that Deputy Marble with the Constable Office conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota passenger vehicle after observing the driver was not secured by his safety belt.

After speaking with the driver who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, Deputy Marble observed that the driver appeared to be very nervous and gave inconsistent statements about his trip. Due to the subject’s behavior and demeanor, Deputy Marble suspected criminal activity was possibly occurring. A drug dog was called to the scene during the traffic stop and gave a positive alert to the trunk of the motor vehicle. After the K-9 alert to the motor vehicle, deputies obtained probable cause to conduct a search of the motor vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and five pounds of marijuana was found concealed inside a plastic bag lying in the trunk. Henry Kinerd 57 years of age from Peoria, ILLNOIS was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana, State Jail felony.

Well, after seeing the papers and tv news showing all of the bust that Jason Bridges has done one would think it might be grandstanding for his election run. However, if you look back for the past few years thats just how Bridges works he get the drugs off the street! I wouldnt understand why anyone other than the bad guys is upset with what he is doing. I personally like to see what is happening in my community if its from Nac P.D., S.O., or Constable office. But thats just Bridges he “GETS THE JOB DONE”.

Citizens of Nacogdoches should call on Kerss to do the honorable thing and step aside. Allow Bridges to assume office as soon as possible and work with him to ensure a smooth transition.

Inept operation of the SO, not answering calls promptly, allowing jail procedures that facilitate escapes, being ineffective at solving crime, not providing leadership in the SO, frivolously pending tax money, overall ineffectiveness in solving and addressing criminal activity and making excuses is what reminds me of Obama.

All of the above reminds me of Kerss.

Bob is absolutely correct. Doing your job without a press release IS doing the job. Having a polished self-serving press release that then is regurgitated by the paper and tv station as news IS grandstanding for political (and probably ego) purposes…Many fine officers are serving on the streets of Nacogdoches without having to feed either…To those humble servants; all due respect…

These grandstanders remind me of Obama.

I like to know what crimes my elected officials are pursuing. I also like to know when they ave made an arrest in a bigger than routine case or busted an organized ring. It also brings out information from the citizens. When an arrest is announced and citizens se it they may come forward with information which can lead to other charges or charges on other suspects.

I have to think that someone who really believes that everything law enforcement does should be kept quiet and not reported publicly is just being disingenuous for immediate political purposes.

Agreed it is more of a demand problem. I even mentioned this to Ann Richards campaign cronies. (kinfolks no less).
    BUT
    Supply is a concern too.

How ’bout we try and do both at the same time?

Drop in the bucket maybe but at least we are getting somewhere.

    Big deal. Who cares?

The drug problem is a demand problem, not a supply problem.

    More grandstanding for political purposes.

I have a granddaughter who is 10 YO.

      I care.

When is doing your job grandstanding?

Should he be just drinking coffee or eating donuts?

Both Thomas and Jason do a job that you or I wouldn’t do so why do YOU have to criticize what one does.

Vote Thomas if you feel you need to but don’t ever blame someone for doing THEIR JOB. That is just insane.

So, really, you just get ticked off when someone in a department other than your favorite candidate makes an arrest and you think publicizing it might help your favorite candidate get beat.
