The Piney Woods Conservation Center will host KidFish 2012 Program again this year beginning at 9 a.m. May 1. There will be more than 80 5th grade children from San Augustine and Broaddus elementary schools participating. This is the second year for the event, funded by First Bank and Trust, San Augustine Lions Club, and the San Augustine Rotary Club. The students fish in the PWCC lake and receive a variety of free fishing tips, lunch and prizes.
This is a joint program of the Stephen F. Austin State University Piney Woods Conservation Center and the San Augustine Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens, with generous volunteer support from many parents and grandparents, teachers, Corps of Engineers employees, game wardens and friends.
