Abby Scorsonelli
Nacogdoches County Commissioner’s Court recently appointed Abby Scorsonelli as Nacogdoches County’s Veteran Service Officer (VSO).
A native of Nacogdoches, Scorsonelli graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 and served five and half years as an officer in the US Navy. Her most recent tour of duty onboard the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) found her providing aid and support to the Japanese following the Tohoku earthquake and subsequent tsunami in addition to maritime and theater security operations. Scorsonelli resigned her commission at the end of September 2011 and has eagerly taken on the responsibilities as VSO.
The Veteran Service Office, located in the Nacogdoches Courthouse Annex, is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm. The VSO is dedicated to providing services, education and support to all eligible veterans, dependents, and survivors.
