Autrey Gene Chaviers, 70, of Stephenville, Texas passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011. He was born on Wednesday, February 12, 1941 in Union Springs, Texas to Aubrey Eugene and Veda Hoover Chaviers.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Nacogdoches at Cason Monk Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in the Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Glen Morton officiating. Interment will follow at Simpson Campground Cemetery in Woden, Texas.
Mr. Chaviers wore many hats during his time on this Earth. He was a professional photographer, supervisor of a large oil and gas company, entrepreneur of his own hay-bailing company and a seller of produce in Weatherford, Texas. Autrey was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lipan, Texas. He was an outdoors guy who loved bird and deer hunting. He was known as a faithful lottery ticket purchaser who had his eye on a hope of owning his “ranch” one day. He loved his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a way about him that only his family could understand. Autrey enjoyed sharing his sense of humor with those that loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Autrey is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Veda Hoover Chaviers, daughter, Lisa Chaviers, and brother, Anthony Chaviers.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Chaviers of Granbury; sister, Sandi Barts and husband Mark of Mt. Enterprise; children, Cathy Chaviers and partner Kristtie Adams of Sugar Land, Danny Chaviers and wife Renae of Nacogdoches, Tracey Meador and husband Jerry of Nacogdoches, Johnny Chaviers and wife Kelley of Nacogdoches, Michael Chaviers and wife Mandy of Wyoming, Shawn Chaviers and wife Dolly of Stephenville; stepchildren, Amy Kissel of Granbury, Les Parnell and wife Dewina of Granbury; sister-in-law, Barbara Chaviers of Nacogdoches; 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous extended family members & friends.
