Obituary: Ethel Frances Wallace

     Ethel Frances Wallace, 100, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 02, 2011. She was born on January 17, 1911 in Cushing, Texas to parents, Charles and Martha Henry.

     She was the first owner and operator of the first Dairy Queen in Nacogdoches, Texas, located across from Branch-Patton. She was a true worker and she was admired by numerous SFA students who worked for her at Dairy Queen.

     She was a member of the Epithian Sisters, Eastern Star, and Woodmen of the World.

     She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Dewey A. Wallace; sisters, Effie Henry, Ollie Mae Sharpe; brothers, Everett Henry, Clint Henry, Jack Henry, Joe Henry, and Charles Henry.

     She is survived by her son Otis Wallace and his wife Mary of Nacogdoches, her daughter Jackie Starling of Nacogdoches, grandchildren, Heath Wallace and his wife Nikki, Shane Starling all of Nacogdoches, Mickey Starling of Lufkin; great grandchildren, Matthew Starling of Conroe, Shea Starling of Lufkin, Cody Starling, and Campbell Wallace of Nacogdoches; sister-in-law, Margaret Henry of Nacogdoches; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches, Texas with Brother Dock L. Lazarine, of the Bethel Baptist Church in Carthage, Texas, officiating.

     Friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, from 5-7pm.

     The family would like to express a special “thank you” to the staff of Willowbrook Nursing Center.
