Obituary: Arthur Lockhart

     Arthur Lee “Acey” Lockhart, 82, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away peacefully on September 16, 2011. Arthur was born on January 20, 1929 in Coleman, Texas and lived there until moving to Dallas in 1940. He graduated from North Dallas High School in 1946. Shortly after graduating he joined the Navy Reserves and began working for Hydrotex Industries, where he worked for 40 years eventually retiring as CEO. Arthur married Kathleen Skinner on February 14, 1986, in Fredericksburg, Texas.

     Some of Arthur’s many passions included golf, hunting, and cooking. His generosity was apparent to all who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a compassionate heart, and was the type of man who never met a stranger. All who knew and loved him will miss him tremendously. He was a loving husband, as well as a wonderful father and grandfather.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kathleen Lockhart of Nacogdoches; Debra Nowell and husband, Ted of Mesquite; Lisa Bulchak and husband, Bryan of Mesquite; Robert Lockhart and wife, Sheila of McKinney, David Rabe of Nacogdoches; Brandee Rabe of Houston and Joli Barker of McKinney; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Mamie Ray Britt of Houston; as well as two nieces and a nephew.

     He was preceded in death by Arthur Lee Lockhart Sr. and Lula Mae Blackstone Lockhart.

     Services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nacogdoches, TX. A Rosary will begin at 10:30am followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 with Reverend Monsignor James E. Young officiating.

     Memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Mary’s Chapel on the SFA campus.
