Obituary: Dean Quankenbush

     Dean Henry Quackenbush, of Mt. Enterprise, Texas passed from this earth at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, Nacogdoches, Texas on July 27, 2011. He was born in McPherson, Kansas on February 5, 1932 and was a Presbyterian. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1950, and served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a retired pipeline inspector, having worked in many parts of the country during his long career. He was a member of the American Legion Post 195 in Henderson and a past member of Post 24 in McPherson, Kansas.

     Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Landon and Eula Quackenbush and his brother, Dale. He is survived by his wife, Delorese “Dee” Quackenbush, of Mt. Enterprise; step-son, Alan Duncan and wife, Molly; granddaughters, Miranda and Alana Duncan all of Tyler, Texas; sister-in-law, Irma Quakenbush of Seattle, Wahington; three nieces and a host of friends and other family.

     At his request, he will be cremated and no services are scheduled. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
