Jason Allen Clifton

     Jason Allen Clifton, age 32, of Nacogdoches, Texas, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, in Port Allen, Louisiana.

     He was born Feb. 22, 1979, in Nacogdoches to Allen and Laura (Brooks) Clifton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from May 31, 2000, to June 6, 2006, including service in Iraq.

     An avid hunter, Jason was a great father and enjoyed squirrel hunting with his children. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grilling as well as participating in outdoor activities with them.

     Survivors: his wife, Wendy Nicole Sowell Clifton; children, Olivia, Hunter, Kaleb, and Dylan; his parents, Allen and Laura Clifton; grandmothers, Dottie Brooks Partin and Lucille Clifton; sister, Melissa Henson; niece, Laura Bolser; parents-in-law, Larry and Holly Sowell; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Sowell; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his first wife, Megan Clifton.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, Nacogdoches, with Bro. Sonny Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Helpenstell Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held Monday, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

     Pallbearers: Adam Thompson, Roy Parish, Jeff Ratcliff, Steven Reynolds, Jeffrey Sowell, and Terry Clifton.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jason Clifton Memorial Account at Austin Bank.
